Our team delivers safe, memorable underwater adventures on the Great Barrier Reef, with a strong commitment to environmental responsibility and exceptional guest service. We are seeking an experienced and multilingual SSI and PADI Open Water Dive Instructor with strong operational and dive-site management capability. This is a full-time, permanent role requiring sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to work independently in an offshore environment. Daily responsibilities include delivering accredited training, guiding dives for international guests, supervising staff, managing equipment and safety compliance, and supporting reef-platform logistics. The role includes offshore travel, variable marine conditions, vessel boarding times, and direct guest interaction. Key Responsibilities Deliver SSI and PADI diving courses to professional standards Lead guided dives and underwater experiences for international guests Manage daily reef operations including equipment checks, logs, and safety compliance Ensure adherence to AS2299 Occupational Diving Standard and WHS procedures Train, supervise, and support dive team members Provide multilingual safety briefings and guest assistance Maintain dive equipment and report issues Support bookings, enquiries, and post-dive guest engagement Promote sustainability and responsible marine tourism practices Essential Requirements SSI Open Water Instructor (SSI) – active PADI Open Water Instructor (PADI) – active AS2299 Occupational Diver certification First Aid & Oxygen Provider certification React Right Instructor qualification Minimum 4 years active professional instruction experience Minimum 2 years dive-site management experience, including at least 18 months in tropical coral reef environments Fluent English & Italian, plus intermediate skills in an additional European language (required due to high European guest volumes on reef tours) Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills Ability to work safely and independently in offshore marine conditions Preferred Qualifications Experience in reef conservation or sustainable diving practices Equipment maintenance and dive-shop logistics experience Familiarity with digital guest engagement or online booking platforms ⭐ Salary & Conditions (Award-Compliant) Base salary: $73,000 per annum (exclusive of superannuation) Weekly language allowance: $59.90, paid in accordance with the Professional Diving Industry (Recreational) Award (MA ) Hours: 38 ordinary hours per week plus 4.5 hours compulsory overtime linked to vessel boarding, reef-platform operations and end-of-day duties Overtime: Paid at Award rates — 150% for the first 2 hours and 200% thereafter Superannuation: paid in addition under the Superannuation Guarantee Salary and conditions reviewed annually to maintain Award and legislative compliance This package is above the Award minimum and reflects the skill, safety responsibility, and multilingual requirements of the role. #J-18808-Ljbffr
