We are seeking an accomplished leader to lead these vital operations — guiding teams across Victoria to deliver person-centred transport and community support services that reflect RFDS Vic’s commitment to safety, quality, and care. The Opportunity Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer , the Director, Patient Transport and Volunteer Services will lead the strategic, operational, and day‑to‑day management of RFDS Vic’s patient transport programmes and volunteer services. This includes statewide oversight of paid and volunteer teams, coordination of regional operations, and ensuring excellence in safety, service delivery, and patient experience. The Director also actively drives growth by identifying new opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that services remain scalable, high‑impact, and closely aligned with RFDS Victoria’s mission. Key Responsibilities Oversee patient transport and volunteer programmes, driving operational and workforce performance to ensure budgets, KPIs and service standards are consistently achieved. Drive service growth, innovation, and continuous improvement to ensure programmes remain scalable, high‑impact. Manage key stakeholder relationships and contractual frameworks with health and community partners to ensure alignment, performance, and service quality. Lead and develop high‑performing teams with a focus on culture, capability, and succession planning. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and ethical frameworks, and conduct regular audits and risk reviews to uphold safety and accountability. About You You are a proven operational leader who combines commercial acumen with compassion and community values. You value and respect the contribution of volunteers, recognising their vital role in strengthening regional communities. You thrive in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments, bringing clarity, structure and focus to evolving service model. What You Will Bring Significant senior leadership experience overseeing health or patient transport operations. Expertise in risk management, contract management, and service improvement frameworks. Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement and operational innovation. Postgraduate qualifications in Public Health, Health Administration, Business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
