Funeral Industry - Crew Team Member position We are seeking a suitably qualified, reliable, and compassionate individual to join our team as a Crew Team Member. This position is primarily based at our Tuggerah site; however, travel to other locations during work hours may be required as directed. The role reports directly to the Crew Leader, though you may also receive instructions from the Operations Manager or General Manager as needed. As a Crew Member, you will work across all areas within the Personal Services Australia group of companies, which includes Macarthur Grange Crematorium, Platinum Funeral Supplies, Independent Mortuary Services, and PSA Gravedigging & Burial Services. Responsibilities Transfer of deceased from hospitals, nursing homes, funeral directors, mortuaries, the coroner and private residences Diginifed and respectful handling of deceased (i.e. placing in body bag, transferring, storing, coffining & loading into a hearse) Assisting with mortuary logistics, including recieving of, handling, and storage of deceased persons Washing, cleaning and general maintenance of transfer vans and hearses Participating in the after hours and on-call transfer roster Packing, loading and delivering of coffins Performing cleaning tasks, general upkeep, and basic maintenance of work areas and equipment Travel within the Central Coast area, but also to Sydney Metro and Regional NSW as required Ensuring all work is performed safely and respectfully, consistent with NSW Work Health and Safety legislation, infection-control requirements, and industry standards From time-to-time crew members will be directed to perform other reasonable duties or tasks for the employer in line with their qualifications, skills and experience Qualifications, Licenses and Skills Essential NSW Full Drivers license with a min 10 years of driving experience (with a clean record) Must be available to work across the 2025 Christmas and New Years period (including public holidays) Must be available to work a rotating after hours and on call roster (4:30pm to 4:30am) Professional approach, manner and presentation A strong work ethic Computer & literacy skills Good physical health and the capability to safely handle deceased persons and coffins in line with safe-lifting guidelines Physical lifting requirement includes handling 60kg or more The ability to work under pressure, independently, follow procedures, and maintain a high standard of attention to detail Excellent interpersonal skills, professionalism, and empathy when interacting with a close team of colleagues and funeral service providers Previous crematorium, mortuary, funeral, or related industry experience is desirable (but not essential) Workplace Standards Complying with all requirements under the Fair Work Act 2009, relevant awards, and NSW Work Health and Safety legislation Maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive work environment Ensuring respectful and dignified treatment of all deceased persons at all times How to Apply Applications should include a resume and a brief cover letter outlining your interest in the position and any relevant experience.
