Cochlear has an opportunity for a full-time Senior Process Engineer (12-month fixed term contract) based in our Sydney, Macquarie office . In this role, the successful Senior Process Engineer will ensure the viability of Cochlear’s manufacturing processes by implementing stable, scalable, and reliable solutions. You will be working with a collaborative and diverse group of people to develop stable and robust manufacturing processes, support supply chain or manufacturing improvement projects, or ensure we have the capabilities to manufacture our increasing volumes. Responsibilities include: Support the supply chain and R&D group project execution by developing and implementing safe, scalable, stable and robust manufacturing processes across the manufacturing network for new and commercially already available product. Develop scalable and robust manufacturing processes within Cochlear and at suppliers of manufactured components. Ensure that manufacturing processes and associated documents comply with Cochlear QMS and international regulation (e.g. WI, PFMEA). Responsible for meeting the manufacturing strategy by relocating/duplicating processes across the manufacturing network. Deliver complex processes in line with project objectives, target and timeline within the area of expertise. Apply lean manufacturing principles in process development to drive efficiency and reduce waste. What makes this opportunity unique? As we grow our operations, we are looking for people who share our passion for delivering quality hearing solutions to our customers. To add value to Cochlear in this role, you'll be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: Essential: Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Biomedical or Electrical Engineering. 5+ years in a similar engineering role within a highly regulated industry. Experience in either process development or mechanical design. Experience developing and introducing manufacturing processes and products internally or at an external supplier. Experience in risk management methodology. Experience in validation or verification of manufacturing processes. Familiarity with foundational coding principles, vision system technologies, and process automation is highly regarded. Knowledge of medical device sterilization standards and practices will be considered an advantage.
