It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the cross-border regions of Western Australia, South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today, we continue to provide progressive, innovative and evidence-based work in service delivery, advocacy and support. At its core NPY Women’s Council is about family and community – walytja. Our purpose is to work with women, children and their families of the Ngaanyatjarra, Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara region in central Australia. Our role is to work side by side and help increase their capacity to lead safe and healthy lives with improved life choices. ABOUT THE TEAM The Child and Family Wellbeing Service is made up of four programs; Child Nutrition, Child and Family Intensive Support Service (Walytjapiti), Child Advocacy and the Palywanungku Palyantjaku Project.The primary focus of the Child and Family Wellbeing Service (CFWS) is to deliver targeted, efficient and effective community services within the NPY region, seeking the best possible outcomes with regard to improving the quality of life for Anangu children and communities. ABOUT THE ROLE Alongside a team you will lead the Ngura Kutju Tristate Hub- a new project led by Anangu and supported by partner agencies. You will aim to make sure that the work of Ngura Kutju stays in line with the Anangu vision of ‘one file, one phone’ to make sure that Anangu children and families have a better experience when they have child protection worries across the borders. ABOUT YOU You will have good understanding of the NPY Women’s Council and the region with basic ability to translate when appropriate Willingness to learn This is a unique chance to work for an organisation that takes a grassroots approach to community development.
