PaNDR (Paediatric and Neonatal Decision Support and Retrieval Service) is the neonatal and paediatric retrieval service for the East of England. Whilst the neonatal and paediatric teams are two independent teams they work supportively and collaboratively together. Providing expert critical care to neonates and children up to the age of 16 years with a variety of medical and surgical conditions both at their referring hospital and in the ambulance en-route to PICU/NICU. The neonatal transport team supports 17 NICU's in the East of England. The region has 3 tertiary centres at The Rosie, The Norfolk & Norwich Hospital and The Luton & Dunstable Hospital. We welcome requests for rotational or shared posts. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for providing direct clinical care to infants requiring emergency and elective transfer. Team working ability and leadership skills will be used to ensure safe and effective delivery of the service for staff, parents and babies according to the CUH Trust values and behaviors. Person Specification Qualifications Safeguarding level 3 Enhanced Nursing Skills Qualification (ENP) Degree in relevant health related subject Experience Tertiary level neonatal nursing or equivalent experience Shift leader experience Transferring infants between departments internally Experience of being involved in governance processes which help to development the service and measure quality Experience of surgical neonatal nursing Transferring infants externally Knowledge Awareness of professional issues Knowledge of team working dynamics Knowledge of neonatal transport developments and strategic National agenda Skills Organised Ability to be calm under pressure Effective team member Able to take responsibility and use feedback for service improvement Basic IT skills Budgetary skills Additonal Requirements The ability to understand and behave at all times, towards patients, visitors and colleagues according to the Trust values of safe, kind, excellent.
