Store Manager – The Bunker (Sunshine Coast) Lead, mentor, and grow in a hands‑on role within the building supplies industry We're looking for an experienced Store Manager to lead operations at one of our leading Sunshine Coast stores, part of The Bunker group. This is a leadership role in a fast‑paced and physically demanding industry, where you'll oversee sales, logistics, customer relationships, and team development. Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years retail management experience. Applicants must be able to meet all physical demands including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods. Permanent residency or Australian citizenship is required for this position. We're ideally seeking someone who's had hands‑on experience running or owning their own business , with a strong understanding of what it takes to manage people, operations, and customers day to day. Previous business ownership experience is strongly preferred. What you’ll do: Customer & Relationship Management Build long‑term relationships with builders, contractors, and retail customers Solve problems when orders are late, damaged, or short Negotiate with suppliers and trade partners Lead by example with outstanding customer service Operations & Logistics Manage stock control and inventory Prioritise DIFOT (delivery in full, on time) Plan efficient delivery schedules using utilities, trucks, forklifts, and cranes Apply knowledge of load limits, Chain of Responsibility (CoR), and safe transport Safety & Compliance Enforce WHS standards across yards, warehouses, and transport Train staff in manual handling, load restraint, and safe machinery use Ensure compliance with QLD transport regulations and CoR Industry Knowledge Understand timber grades, treatments, and building products Advise builders, trades, and DIY customers Apply knowledge of construction Financial & Business Acumen Monitor margins and profitability Manage trade credit accounts and payment termsControl costs in logistics, freight, and staffing Leadership & Team Development Lead and mentor yard staff, drivers, and sales reps Train and motivate teams to deliver safely, accurately, and efficiently Communicate clearly and maintain a calm, professional demeanor Adaptability & Problem Solving Handle supply chain disruptions (shortages, imports, weather delays) Reorganise schedules quickly when deliveries are delayed Manage stock levels to balance understocks, overstock and out‑of‑stocks What you’ll bring Proven leadership experience in retail, logistics, or building supplies Hands‑on leadership style – willing to jump in and support the team Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills Experience owning or managing a business is highly regarded Location: Sunshine Coast, QLDFull‑time, permanent role Contact Human Resources: *** / **@uptons.net.au #J-18808-Ljbffr
