Business Analyst Reports to: Head of Data Services Location: Sydney (Hybrid) Job Type: Permanent Ensure reliable, accurate third‑party data integrations into a modern advice and wealth platform Work across data, product, and engineering to power scalable FinTech solutions Business Analyst role in a growing advice‑tech business focused on data, innovation, and client outcomes About the role This role sits within the data services team and is responsible for ensuring accurate, reliable integration of third‑party data into the investment platform. It involves working with stakeholders to capture both business and technical requirements, analyse external data structures, and create clear mapping documentation to support reporting, compliance, and operational processes. Experience working with data feeds across listed equities, ETFs, managed funds, and fixed income products will be highly regarded. Key Responsibilities Collect, interpret, and document both business and technical needs for the integration of external data sources, covering new initiatives and enhancements to existing connections. Conduct in‑depth assessment of vendor data files, schemas, and API documentation to identify data models, relationships, and transformation rules. Collaborate closely with development teams throughout the delivery lifecycle to refine requirements, provide ongoing clarification, and confirm successful implementation. Use project management tools such as Jira to track progress, support sprint planning, and align deliverables to business process maps. Coordinate with third‑party providers to troubleshoot data issues, ensure consistency in data definitions, standardise integration formats, and maintain procedural documentation and reusable frameworks. Partner with product and operations stakeholders to ensure data solutions align with business, compliance, and reporting requirements. Key Qualifications Proven background as a Business Analyst working with data integrations, preferably within financial services or investment management. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of translating business requirements into clear technical specifications. Practical experience with structured data types (CSV, XML, JSON, APIs), vendor data dictionaries, and advanced SQL or data‑querying techniques to support deep analysis, reconciliation, and validation. A strategic, analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying issues and proposing effective solutions.
