Position: Workshop Foreman – Fabrication & Welding Location: Prestons, NSW Salary Package: $120,000 – $150,000 + Super + Company Vehicle (Ford Ranger XLT) Shift: Monday – Friday | 7:00am – 3:30pm About the Role We are seeking an experienced Workshop Foreman to lead a team of around 12 tradespeople delivering high-quality aluminium marine fabrication. This is a hands‑on leadership role overseeing daily workshop operations, safety, quality and productivity across welding and fabrication activities. You’ll work in a state‑of‑the‑art facility with advanced CNC and robotic equipment, supporting defence and commercial marine projects , within a business known for strong training, career progression and industry‑leading certified standards (ISO 9001, ISO 3834, DNV/Lloyd’s). Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily workshop operations, allocating labour and resources effectively. Oversee welding and fabrication works to drawings and specifications. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 / ISO 3834 , QC procedures and traceability requirements. Maintain high standards of WHS, environmental compliance and workshop organisation. Coordinate schedules, monitor progress and meet production deadlines. Mentor tradespeople, apprentices and trainees, supporting skills development. Liaise with management to resolve technical, quality and workflow issues. Ensure safe operation and upkeep of workshop machinery and equipment. What You’ll Bring Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication (required) Hold a construction/white card. Strong hands‑on background in fabrication and welding (aluminium preferred). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings with high attention to detail. Leadership experience supervising workshop teams. Knowledge of welding standards, codes and traceability systems. Exposure to press brakes (Amada), laser cutters and routine equipment maintenance. Experience with QC systems, including "NDT " (Non‑destructive Testing) – highly regarded .
