Utilizing this knowledge and experience, Thales Australia will deliver a harmonized Civil/Military Air Traffic Management System (CMATS / OneSKY) in Australia to Airservices Australia and Defence. This will enable a new level of safety and efficiency, while also reducing delays for the travelling public and providing opportunities to improve environmental outcomes. Your role: The purpose of the position is to support the CMATS Training Team in conducting simulation and ATM dataset adaptation training and assessment involving system analysis, design, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the ATC simulation training solution for the Thales CMATS Project. The CMATS Operational Lifecycle Support Instructor contributes to the CMATS Data Specialist and Training User training activities, including ad-hoc training requests, to ensure that the CMATS training solution meets or exceeds the project objectives, including efficient use of training resources. The instructor will lead training for personnel who perform simulation configuration, dataset adaptation, and exercise preparation and training management activities in support of CMATS. Specifically, the instructor will demonstrate high experience and knowledge in applying Data Preparation (DPR) and Exercise Editor (EED) tools for delivering high-quality, high-fidelity CMATS simulator training. Some of your key responsibilities will include: The instructor's primary duties revolve around CMATS Training Support, covering critical areas: Data Management Functions: Managing TopSky-NG adaptation datasets for ATC and simulation purposes, Voice Control System datasets, validation, and maintenance following software upgrades. Leader Functions: Supervising and controlling CMATS training and simulation activities, including planning and session control. Pseudo Pilot/Leader Functions: Operating the Pseudo Pilot function to support training and controlling session parameters. Training Development and Implementation The instructor will work as part of the Thales CMATS Training Team through various phases: Analysis and Design: Analyzing training requirements, designing management and curriculum, developing draft packages. Development: Developing courseware, datasets, exercise scenarios, and facilitating training at the CTA. Implementation: Delivering training, maintaining materials, and facilitating evaluation. On day one you will come with: Australian Citizenship to gain defence security clearance Experience configuring Air Traffic Management systems and working with simulation datasets Knowledge of ATM simulator platforms, including troubleshooting and performance requirements Intermediate skills in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint Experience developing aviation simulation exercises for training environments If this role feels right – no matter your background or circumstances – please introduce yourself or join our community .
