Aboriginal Youth & Disability Support Worker Allambi Care is a leading organisation, 40 years strong, with a "never give up" approach to supporting our community's most vulnerable people. We are looking for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander support workers invested in the welfare of young people. About The Role As a Support Worker you are one of the most influential people in your clients’ lives. Your role is diverse, challenging and involves direct care in settings such as houses, schools, hospitals, community centres and emergency accommodation. Your Daily Tasks Can Include Building a relationship with the people you are caring for. Providing around‑the‑clock care following a structured routine. Administering medication. Transporting clients to school, day programmes and appointments. Assisting in the implementation of development programmes. Report writing. Qualifications and Training Our dedicated educational and development pathway leads you towards relevant industry qualifications. Paid 5‑day induction programme, including Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) course. Paid 6‑month probationary training programme. During probationary training you receive mentor support and all‑hour on‑call support. Upon successful completion you can enrol in a CHC52015 Diploma of Community Services with BIAE (RTO no 45241). Up to 8 units of credit may be awarded. Rates commence at SCHADS Level 2 Paypoint 1; further progress with experience and qualifications. About You – Essential Criteria Current Working with Children Check. Current NDIS Worker Check. Current First Aid Certificate (Course Code HLTAID011). National Police Check. A current driver’s licence and vehicle that can transport up to 4 people with comprehensive car insurance. Certificate of Completion: NDIS Worker Orientation Module. Ability to work a 7‑day shift work roster. Willingness to participate in pre‑employment medical checks. Two professional references. Willingness to consent to information entered on the Residential Care Worker Register. Desirable Qualifications Diploma of Community Services. Bachelor of Human Services.
