Full time working hours (38) Monday to Friday for approximately 12 month duration. Working in the Organic Chemistry Laboratory, you will be part of a collaborative team delivering high-quality analysis across environmental samples such as water, soil, food, and pharmaceuticals. Your work will support national priorities and real-world outcomes in environmental health, food safety and regulatory compliance. What you’ll be doing: Undertake the extraction and analysis of organic semivolatile and volatile contaminants in environmental samples. Operate, troubleshoot and maintain advanced analytical instrumentation, including GC, GCMS and LC. Validate data and ensure results meet strict QA/QC standards in a NATA-accredited environment. Contribute to projects that directly impact environmental protection, food safety and public health. Work with a highly skilled and supportive team with opportunities to broaden your technical expertise. Essential requirements you will bring: A tertiary qualification in Chemistry (or equivalent scientific discipline) with at least 1 year of relevant laboratory experience. Demonstrated hands-on experience extracting and analysing environmental samples for organic contaminants using GC or LC instrumentation. Strong knowledge of environmental sample extraction techniques and instrument troubleshooting. Proven ability to work within a NATA-accredited laboratory environment. Adherence to Quality Management System ISO9000/17025/17034. Strong organisational skills with the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, client-focused setting. A collaborative approach, with the initiative and judgement to work both independently and as part of a team. Commitment to safety, compliance, and professional standards of conduct.
