Location Osborne Park Directorate Position Details State Salary Review : Level 8, $157,900 - $171,005 per annum (PSCSAA Work Type : Permanent – Full Time About the Department The Department of Housing and Works delivers and maintains essential social housing and critical infrastructure across Western Australia—including schools, hospitals, and police facilities. We manage tenancy services, support housing provision in remote Aboriginal communities, and oversee government employee accommodation. The position leads the creation of communications materials and recommends optimal channels to maximise engagement for proactive and reactive issues, both internal and external to DHW. Key relationships include the Minister's office, senior executives across DHW and the wider public sector, and business and industry leaders. You will keep the Executive Leadership Group (ELG) informed of the strength of these relationships and potential for interaction between them, with a key focus on high‑profile / high‑risk issues or opportunities. About You We are seeking an experienced leader for this busy internal and external facing function. With a strategic communications focus, you will lead a multi‑discipline team to develop and deliver activities that meet the needs of customers and showcase the important work DHW delivers across the State. Your proven experience in building and maintaining high‑profile relationships will be essential for effectively managing communications issues in a complex, dynamic, and politically sensitive environment. This position operates in a dynamic context. You will motivate and enable others to deliver high‑quality work while balancing time between doing the work and coaching, guiding, and developing others.
