About The Role As a Shift Team Leader you will provide frontline supervision of feed mill operations during designated shifts, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production of animal nutrition products. The role balances operational responsibilities (equipment operation, troubleshooting, and quality checks) with people leadership, overseeing mill hands and operators to achieve production targets in line with company standards, policies, and values. Your Day-to-day Activities Will Include Lead, coach, and support a shift team of mill operators and mill hands. Allocate tasks, monitor work practices, and ensure safe, efficient operations. Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Oversee feed milling processes including pellet mill, hammer mill, extruder, blenders, grinders, and control panels. Conduct and review quality assurance activities, including product sampling, grain testing, and recording results. Perform and oversee basic maintenance and troubleshooting tasks (belt changes, lubrication, adjustments). Maintain a safe working environment in line with WHS obligations, FeedSafe standards, and company policies. Conduct routine checks, toolbox talks, and safety observations. Oversee receipt and testing of grain and raw materials. Supervise loading/unloading of bulk feed and bagged product. Monitor and maintain records for stock levels, tallies, and grain reports. Support completion of stocktaking activities and ordering of bagged grain where required. Operate and supervise milling equipment (pellet mill, hammer mill, blenders, extruder, boiler/steam generator, grinders). Coordinate shift handovers and ensure accurate recording of production data. What We Are Looking For We would love to hear from you if you have: Previous leadership/management experience. Previous feed mill experience. Forklift licence. Completion of FeedSafe training modules. Completion of an approved supervisory skills course (e.g., Certificate IV in Frontline Leadership). Advanced Feed Milling Certificate (or equivalent) preferred. A great attitude and willingness to learn. The ability to perform physical tasks safely. A team-focused mindset. Good attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Mechanical aptitude or previous experience in manufacturing, agriculture, or warehousing (highly regarded but not required). Why Norco?
