The Lowy Institute hosts distinguished Australian and international speakers on foreign policy, defence, politics, aid, and development. With a focus on the Asia‑Pacific region, the Institute’s research, events, and conferences attract significant global attention, and our experts produce commentary for the world’s leading news outlets. The Lowy Institute is seeking a Head of Partnerships to manage a range of key stakeholder relationships and to work with the Institute’s Executive team in support of its business development activities. This is a rare opportunity for an accomplished stakeholder manager to join the Institute and partner with its Executive to drive key stakeholder engagement activities and promote the work of the Institute. Key Responsibilities Manage the Institute’s corporate and government membership program. You will coordinate closely with the Institute’s research and events teams on a range of engagement opportunities for corporate and government members. It is an excellent opportunity to work with stakeholders at senior levels across government and corporate Australia on their engagement with the Institute’s work. Work with the Institute’s Executive team to identify additional corporate and government memberships opportunities, as well as new grant funding opportunities. The Head of Partnerships will manage grant application processes and work closely with the COO to bring together inputs from internal stakeholders. Work with the COO to secure sponsorship for the Institute’s key activities and events. Manage the Institute’s individual supporters and identify ways to expand membership. To be successful in this role, you will be a positive, self‑starter who enjoys working in a small team and managing several projects at once. You will have exceptional communication skills and develop strong relationships with external stakeholders. Required Skills and Experience Several years of stakeholder management experience Experience partnering with senior executives to deliver business outcomes Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels across government and corporate Australia Sound financial acumen Previous experience working in international affairs or exposure to policy making Highly Desirable Previous experience working in international affairs or exposure to policy making Experience working across a number of teams This is a full‑time position based in Sydney.
