Senior Infrastructure Engineer

An experienced Infrastructure Engineer is required to act as a senior technical escalation point for a major network transformation project. The role involves providing expert guidance, troubleshooting complex issues, and ensuring the successful deployment and ongoing stability of secure network infrastructure. The engineer will support advanced Fortinet and Azure network technologies, ensure service continuity, and enable smooth implementation across project phases and operational handover. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary technical escalation point for complex infrastructure and network-related issues Provide expert guidance on design, deployment, and optimisation of:Fortinet SD‑WAN FortiGate Firewalls Fortinet Azure NVA deployments FortiClient, FortiSASE and FortiSandbox Azure Cloud Infrastructure Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges in a timely and proactive manner to minimise disruption and maintain project momentum Support implementation, configuration and performance optimisation of secure hybrid cloud network environments Provide technical leadership and clear advice to project teams and stakeholders Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, configuration guides and operational procedures Develop network topology and data flow maps across network zones and cross‑domain environments using Microsoft Visio Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders Skills and Experience Essential Proven experience in secure ICT infrastructure environments, with strong expertise in:Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, SD‑WAN, Azure NVAs, FortiClient, FortiSASE, FortiSandbox) Azure cloud networking and infrastructure services Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across hybrid network environments Ability to map data flows and network segmentation across multi‑zone or cross‑domain architectures Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Visio for creating detailed network diagrams Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and provide clear technical advice Strong attention to detail, including the ability to produce high‑quality technical documentation Seniority level: Mid‑Senior level.
