Overview Please respond to the job if you are an Australian Citizen residing in Australia with the ability to obtain Baseline Clearance. Contract start 16 January 2023 to 12 months, with 12 months extensions. Location options include Penrith, Parramatta, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart or Darwin. The Policy, Markets and Insight Division supports the NDIS Commission's delivery of legislative functions through strategic policy development and advice focused on the regulatory framework, the provider market and workforce quality; data and analysis activities and other major projects and initiatives. This includes innovative and strategic thinking, data analysis and evidence reviews to solve complex policy issues that facilitate upholding the rights of people with disability through regulation of the NDIS market, enabling the provision of safe and quality supports. The Division supports the NDIS Commissioner with inquiries and reviews, delivery of NDIS workforce initiatives and administration of the NDIS support for providers grants program. The Policy, Markets and Insight Division consists of the following: Regulatory Framework Participant Rights Provider Market Workforce Quality Data and Insights Data and Insights The Data and Insights Team is responsible for delivering high-quality analytics that underpin data-driven decision-making and enable the Commission to ensure people with disability receive quality and safe supports and services under the NDIS. The team is accountable for data management and modelling, providing business intelligence to operational units, reporting on key metrics and trends and developing models to facilitate safeguarding. The team also provides regular, reliable and accurate data to senior leadership. The position notes and responsibilities continue with the Senior Data Analyst - Data Management focus below. Senior Data Analyst - Data Management Identify opportunities to optimise data management processes, including uplift of data quality, improve governance and enhance data for business consumption Development of data dictionaries, data mapping and business logic documentation to help both technical and business users understand the sources and meaning of data Assist with the establishment of data management standards which promote consistency and reliability of data practices Execute quality assurance testing across datasets prepared for reporting/analytical consumption Act as a domain expert of various datasets, collaborating with technical specialists and business stakeholders to educate others and enhance trust and adoption of data products Skills, knowledge, and experience: Our ideal candidate will have a positive contemporary attitude to people with disability and have the following capabilities: Highly curious and loves to investigate and solve data problems Strong attention to detail and proven experience in quality assurance practices Demonstrated proficiency with SQL Good understanding of data warehousing and ETL practices Effective written and verbal communications skills, including reporting, presentation and translating technical concepts to business stakeholders Our ideal candidate will also have: Lived experience of disability or demonstrated understanding of disability services in a State or Territory Government context would be an advantage. Experience with data visualisation tools (Qlik Sense would be a bonus) Qualifications in and/or equivalent experience in a discipline such as statistics, epidemiology, social science, psychology, information technology or data analytics. Note: The position locations are flexible and may be performed from any of the NDIS Commissions locations in Penrith, Parramatta, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth, Hobart or Darwin.
