Offer DescriptionOpen to Australian Aboriginal Peoples onlyFull-time, continuing positionAttractive salary plus 17% superannuationAbout the Role As the Lecturer in Aboriginal Health, you will be responsible for contributing to the teaching, scholarship, research and professional activities of the Allied Health & Human Performance academic unit.
You will focus primarily on Aboriginal Health curriculum development and pedagogies, as well as the provision of advice on these areas in relation to the Academic Unit's undergraduate and/or postgraduate programs.
Core Responsibilities Apply research and scholarship to the development of courses, including investigating and developing alternative teaching methods and the initiation and development of new materialMaintain and strive to improve the quality of courses as measured with a variety of evaluation instrumentsConduct research and scholarly activity (independently or as a member of a team) which will result in publications in refereed journals and in presenting conference papers at seminarsCreate, foster and enhance local, national and international links with relevant professional, university and community bodies that assist in the advancement of University and Academic Unit objectivesEssential Skills and Experience Demonstrated understanding of the issues impacting on the learning of Aboriginal tertiary students from diverse backgrounds and a detailed knowledge of and familiarity with Aboriginal communitiesA bachelor degree in a Health-related field and relevant industry/discipline experience in Aboriginal culture/health/researchAbility to undertake a range of teaching duties including the preparation of appropriate teaching materials and resourcesHigh level written and oral communication skills and the capability to use the necessary digital techniques required for effective curriculum deliveryThe ability to enhance the research profile of the Academic Unit through collaborative researchCulture As a University of Enterprise, we offer a dynamic and agile workplace culture, one that embraces challenges and thrives on breaking new ground.
