About the Role We are seeking a skilled Strategic Sourcing Manager to drive procurement strategies, optimise supply chain performance, and deliver sustainable, cost‑effective solutions that support our business objectives. This role leads a team of sourcing specialists, ensuring best‑in‑class sourcing practices and strong supplier relationships. Working closely with the Procurement and Subcontract Manager, you will be jointly responsible for the end‑to‑end performance of the procurement function, including sourcing, RF(x), evaluation, subcontract negotiations, and management. Your focus will be on achieving On Time, To Quality, and Within Budget outcomes through WIN:WIN strategies that add value and mitigate risk. This role can be based in our Melbourne CBD office or at our Avalon site , with ability to travel between both sites as required. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement integrated sourcing strategies aligned with HDA’s long‑term objectives. Identify and deliver measurable savings targets and ensure compliance tracking. Monitor market trends, innovations, and regulatory changes to maintain competitive procurement strategies. Lead and mentor a team to foster high performance and professional growth. Collaborate on supplier contract negotiations and framework agreements to meet business goals. Manage supply chain risks and opportunities, supporting supplier development initiatives. Ensure governance through KPIs, root cause analysis, and corrective actions. About You We’re looking for a hands‑on professional who can lead day‑to‑day sourcing activities and help drive continuous improvement. You will have: Substantial experience in procurement and supplier relationship management. Strong contractual knowledge and complex negotiation experience. Ability to work cross‑functionally in bids and project environments. Experience in people management and performance. Defence sector experience is not essential —we welcome candidates from diverse industries. Why Join Us?
