Azure storage already runs at Exascale (storing exabytes of data) and we will scale our designs over the next decade to support Zettascale. Azure Storage provides the persistent storage layer in the cloud, powering millions of Azure virtual machines, holding millions of hours of video, billions of photos, and petabytes of other data types. If delivering the fastest storage platform in the cloud using cutting edge technology sounds interesting, we may have the job for you Responsibilities Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a set of scenarios. Work on identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform. Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI). Leverage subject‑matter expertise of cross‑product features with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items. Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI), working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiating actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR equivalent experience. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python. OR equivalent experience. 1+ year(s) of experience with hardware. Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements. This includes, but is not limited to, the Microsoft Cloud Background Check required upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
