Wallis Drilling is a 100% Western Australian family‑owned drilling company with a turnover of $100m. We currently operate out of our Midvale head office, however, will be moving into our state‑of‑the‑art facilities in Hazelmere early 2026. We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee our finance operations, drive reporting accuracy and lead compliance initiatives with a focus on innovation and change management. This is an opportunity for a senior manager with robust technical accounting experience to step into a hands‑on role. Key Responsibilities Ensure compliance with accounting standards (AASB/IFRS) and relevant tax, payroll, and statutory obligations. Oversee financial accounting & compliance with statutory reporting, audits, and internal controls; month‑end processes to maintain strong governance ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Manage treasury, cash flow, working capital management and financial planning to support business objectives. Identify, develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency. Team Leadership – provide mentoring, coaching and direction to 7 team members in AP, AR, Payroll and reconciliations. Reporting to CFO with key relationships to Managing Director, Operations Managers, Administration Team, HR and IT. Qualifications At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related discipline. Demonstrated leadership and stakeholder management skills. Strong technical expertise in accounting standards and reporting requirements. Proven experience in financial and management accounting roles within a complex organisation. Experience with ERP systems, financial modelling and data analysis tools. Capacity to manage complex decision‑making, competing priorities and time‑critical deliverables.
