Senior Commercial Finance Analyst - Digital (12mth Fixed-Term Contract) Apply for the role at David Jones . What your day looks like Support the financial modelling and analysis for David Jones’ Online business, covering day‑to‑day BAU operations and Digital Optimisation initiatives, including the medium & long‑term digital investment roadmap. Act as the financial owner of the Online P&L, driving forecasting, budgeting, month‑end and ensuring accuracy and clarity across the financials. Optimise the shape of the Online P&L to grow revenue & margin, while continuously seeking cost‑efficiency opportunities. Drive commercial decisions through comprehensive evaluation of P&L impacts for proposals and initiatives, analysing uplifts, risks and mitigation options and preparing executive‑level documentation. Partner with the Digital team as a key business partner, embedding within project teams to understand challenges and opportunities of major initiatives. Identify process improvements or innovative financial approaches that enhance decision‑making for transformational projects; present and execute approved recommendations. Champion collaboration across the Commercial Finance and Strategy team, sharing learnings and best practices to support large‑scale business initiatives. What you'll need to thrive Tertiary Qualification in Accounting/Business, with CA/CPA qualification. Passion for retail and problem‑solving, with a keen interest in driving business transformation through financial analysis. Strong financial modelling skills with the ability to handle complex, multi‑variable scenarios. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly for large‑scale initiatives. Outstanding communication and presentation skills, able to convey complex financial concepts to non‑finance stakeholders. Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple competing projects with varying timelines. Strategic thinking capability, anticipating business needs and presenting options for review. Experience supporting transformational projects or significant business initiatives is highly desirable. Ability to build strong relationships across business units and work effectively in cross‑functional teams. Why work for us?
