The Opportunity As Principal Architect, you’ll be at the heart of daisee’s product evolution – guiding architectural strategy, bringing new ideas to life, and staying hands‑on with modern AI tooling. You’ll balance technical depth with conceptual thinking, ensuring our solutions scale across global enterprises while maintaining the highest standards of quality, performance, and security. What You’ll Do Lead the architecture design for daisee’s AI/ML‑driven SaaS platform. Drive architectural decisions across data infrastructure, ML pipelines, and scalable AWS cloud systems. Influence the technical direction of multiple product teams and be a go‑to escalation point for complex technical issues. Promote best practices in coding, architecture, and system design to ensure maintainability, scalability, and performance. Guide engineering teams to make the right trade‑offs between speed, quality, and business needs. Research, evaluate, and recommend emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to enhance daisee’s engineering capability. Collaborate across product, engineering, and business stakeholders to deliver high‑impact solutions. Lead and contribute to technical discussions that drive alignment and better outcomes. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to Staff Engineers and senior developers. Be hands‑on when needed — designing, developing, and reviewing high‑quality, well‑documented code that solves complex problems at scale. Support and define hiring needs across the engineering practices. Skills & Experience Needed Extensive expertise in designing and architecting high‑quality, scalable, and secure software systems. Proven experience as a Principal Architect or Senior Engineering Leader in SaaS, fintech, or AI/ML domains. A minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Principal Architect or Senior Engineering Leader is required. Combined experience across Principal Architect and Senior Engineering Leader roles totalling 10+ years is acceptable to meet the minimum requirement. Strong ability to dive deep into codebases, quickly assess structure, and define what good should look like. Deep understanding of architectural trade‑offs, balancing scalability, maintainability, performance, and business priorities. Hands‑on proficiency in AWS cloud architecture (ECS, Lambda, CI/CD, security). Strong security mindset and familiarity with secure coding, authentication, and data protection best practices. Proficiency in DevOps, observability, and performance tuning, underpinned by solid computer science fundamentals. Knowledge of machine learning, data pipelines, and model deployment at scale. Experience with modern architectures and functional programming (Haskell, OCaml, Scala, F#, or related). Specific experience with Haskell functional programming language is required for this role. Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive engineering roadmaps. Exposure to compliance, risk management, and regulatory considerations in software development. A proven track record as a pragmatic problem‑solver who challenges assumptions and offers well‑reasoned alternatives.
