Residential Youth Worker

About Us: DCC specialises in 24-hour residential care, allied health, outreach support, community access, supervised family contact, and transport. It is dedicated to creating a warm, friendly home environment for our children and young people and empowering them with the skills needed to live independent lives. About the role: In this role, you will be working as part of a dynamic care team, providing both youth support and disability support services to children and young people in DCC care. Our young people may have a range of additional needs, including ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), language disorders, and reactive attachment disorder. You will be responsible for offering compassionate, trauma-informed care and supporting each young person s individual development and well-being. This includes assisting with personal care needs such as meal preparation, maintaining hygiene standards, medication administration and accurate medication data recording, skill development and socialisation, and providing transport to school, appointments, and community-based activities. As part of supporting children and young people with complex communication needs, you must be willing to use a variety of communication tools, including audio devices, pictorial aids, and PODD (Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display) communication books. Full training will be provided by qualified therapists to ensure that every member of the care team is equipped to deliver consistent, high-quality support tailored to the unique needs of each young person.
