About the role As the Workshop Foreman/Controller at Hervey Bay Auto Group, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the smooth and efficient operation of the company's automotive workshop. In this full‑time position based in Hervey Bay, QLD, you will be responsible for managing the workshop team, ensuring high‑quality service delivery, and contributing to the overall success of the business. What you'll be doing Coordinate and oversee the daily activities of the workshop, including job scheduling, task delegation, and quality control. Manage the workshop team, providing training, support, and performance feedback to ensure a high level of productivity and customer satisfaction. Liaise with customers, providing updates on the progress of their vehicle repairs and addressing any concerns or queries. Maintain accurate records of all workshop activities, including job costs, parts usage, and labour hours. Regularly review and optimise workshop processes and procedures to improve efficiency and productivity. Collaborate with the parts department and other teams to ensure the timely availability of necessary parts and resources. Promote a safe and compliant work environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations. What we're looking for Significant experience (5+ years) in a workshop control or management role within the automotive industry. Strong technical knowledge of automotive systems and repair procedures. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with customers and lead a team. Proficient in using workshop management software and other relevant technology. Demonstrated problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to handle a wide range of workshop‑related issues. Strong organisational and time‑management abilities to ensure the efficient operation of the workshop. Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and maintaining high‑quality standards.
