Accounting solutions to support your growing business Tullastone is a small and growing accounting firm based in Sydney, Australia which provides a broad range of accounting, outsourced business services and tax solutions to Australian business clients. We are a relaxed and family friendly business and our new office located in Crows Nest, north of the Sydney CBD is near vibrant cafes and shops with both the Sydney Metro line and bus stops within walking distance. We are looking for a genuine, down-to‑earth, self‑starting superstar Senior Accountant to step in as 2IC to the Director to help take the firm forward. The role is initially on a part‑time basis (ideally 4 days) with the view to moving to full time in due course. Hybrid options available for the right person. The Opportunity As a growing firm, you'll be a foundational hire with responsibility for managing the end‑to‑end accounting production process for our business clients, with the assistance of our junior accountant/bookkeeper. You will generally become the first point of contact for many of our clients for the day‑to‑day accounting services we provide. This role is suited for someone who is comfortable switching between various clients and tasks, maintaining correct and clean accounting records and appreciating the value of developing and maintaining systemised processes and continuous improvement. And if you enjoy a challenge… you will also have the opportunity to work with the Director on business development initiatives and marketing Skills and Experience Minimum of 3‑4 years relevant experience working with an Australian accounting firm and can confidently review and reconcile accounts, prepare GST and income tax returns, financial statements and navigate through tax planning projects CA or CPA qualified (or substantially progressed) Strong Xero skills including Xero Payroll and Xero reporting functionality Interested in tech and integrated cloud software Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft 365 apps Experience with Karbon practice management software Experience with Active Workpapers (Business Fitness), Approval Max, Dext, BGL corporate compliance software and ASIC filing processes Enjoy working directly with clients and problem solving Organised with strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise your workload independently Collaborative work style with excellent communication skills A positive, anything is possible attitude with your approach to your work and life The Role You daily tasks will be varied and include: Client emails, meetings and job management Assisting / reviewing the work of the Junior Accountant (offshore resource) Reviewing ongoing bookkeeping and other accounting tasks, BAS/IAS returns and tax compliance and ensuring our accounts are always review ready Business reporting and forecasts Xero Payroll processing and compliance Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for business group entities (companies, trusts and individuals) and bringing the overall group position together Developing and improving processes and procedures (using Karbon and Notion for SOPs) Ad hoc tasks and project work General office banter and ensuring only good vibes for our clients and us as a team Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Part‑time Job function Accounting/Auditing and Finance Industries Accounting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Tullastone by 2x Sign in to set job alerts for “Senior Accountant” roles.
