Network Engineer - Cisco SD-WAN (Required) (Contract) FinXL: Your Partner in Enterprise Networking Solutions FinXL is a leading Australian IT services and solutions company dedicated to deploying expert teams to tackle complex challenges in Enterprise Networking and Cloud Security for our major clients. The Opportunity We are seeking a highly capable Network Engineer with experience in Cisco SD-WAN for an initial 6-month contract (starting January 2026). This pivotal role is focused on the day-to-day configuration, deployment, and operational support of enterprise-grade network solutions across a major client environment. (Location: Flexible) Key Responsibilities SD-WAN Deployment & Support: Participate in the configuration, deployment, and ongoing optimization of Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela and Catalyst) solutions, assisting with integration into existing network infrastructure and hybrid cloud environments. Network Security Implementation: Apply network security best practices in SD‑WAN configuration, including supporting traffic segmentation and encryption policies. Technical Problem Solving: Troubleshoot and resolve complex SD‑WAN and general network‑related issues to ensure high network availability and performance. Governance & Change: Follow structured change management processes, ensuring all network changes are correctly documented and implemented with minimal risk. SSE Integration (Exposure): Assist or participate in projects that integrate the SD‑WAN platform with Secure Service Edge (SSE) technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Zscaler, Fortinet). Documentation: Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation to support ongoing operations and knowledge transfer. Required Skills & Experience Mandatory Platform Expertise: Practical experience with Cisco SD-WAN (Viptela and Catalyst) , including hands‑on configuration, deployment, and operational support in an enterprise setting. Core Networking: Solid understanding of routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), switching, IP protocols, WAN optimization, and fundamental network security concepts. Automation (Valued): Exposure to network automation tools such as Ansible or Python is a plus. Certifications: Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, Cisco SD-WAN Specialist, or equivalent practical experience are highly regarded. Soft Skills: Able to clearly communicate technical concepts and work effectively within a project team.
