Hotel Rottnest and Samphire Rottnest, located on the premiere tourist destination Rottnest Island, is well known for offering a unique experience with amazing views over Thomson Bay. We are entering a new and exciting era and are looking forward to building our team in support of this. Samphire Rottnest will offer 80 suites, pools, Food and Beverage options and multiple indoor/ outdoor function facilities. We have an exciting opportunity for a General Hands/Stores assistant. You will be enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work well in a very fast paced environment. This role assists all areas of the Maintenance Department, including stores, general maintenance, gardening, cleaning, and basic equipment upkeep. About The Role Assist with receiving and storing general and perishable goods. Supporting with Receive and forward all goods and deliveries in and out of the hotel to the correct point of contact/storage area. Support the accurate management of stock and ensure stock data is up to date in the system. Assist in monthly stock takes within the business. Maintain order and cleanliness of the store area, and in general property cleaning and maintenance. Following routine maintenance schedules, and support the maintenance team with any maintenance calls, where possible rectify the fault. Support any regular checks of the properties and report any property issues to the Supervisor. Perform minor tasks such as minor installations and routine maintenance. Responsible to maintain tools and equipment, ensuring all items are stored safely and correctly. Assisting in event logistics where required. Identifying and reporting any hazards or risks associated with manual handling tasks to management. Participate in training and education programs provided by the property. Assist in recyclable waste processing across the properties. Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional. Keep accurate recordings of all incoming and outgoing goods. About You Energetic, fit, and active worker. Must possess a healthy work attitude and the ability to engage with other staff in a positive team environment. Safety awareness. Positive, friendly, approachable disposition. Forklift license (Desire but not essential). The role is being offered as either Live on island or Commute. #J-18808-Ljbffr
