Lead Pharmacy Assistant Dispensary Services Join to apply for the Lead Pharmacy Assistant Dispensary Services role at Candino CA Job Summary Job Summary – Join an acute hospital pharmacy department to develop leadership skills and become a Lead Pharmacy Assistant. You will manage shift operations across two dispensaries, coordinate workflow, oversee pharmacy assistants, and ensure a safe and effective dispensary service. You will also answer queries from staff and patients, provide professional support, and receive comprehensive training and mentorship. Responsibilities Day‑to‑day leadership of dispensary operations, including direct line management of dispensing assistants. Conduct appraisals, draft rotations, monitor attendance and attendance levels, and ensure compliance with mandatory training. Act as the first point of contact for multidisciplinary staff requiring service support and advice. Proactively coordinate and manage the flow of work to maintain an efficient and safe service. Assist the Chief Pharmacy Technician and Dispensary Manager with induction, training, and development of staff. Collaborate with wider Pharmacy colleagues to optimise medicine use and minimise drug wastage. Qualifications Essential Recent experience within pharmacy practice. Experience dealing with patients, the public, and multidisciplinary healthcare colleagues. Demonstrated team working experience and ability to supervise/mentor. Handling patient‑identifiable and/or commercially sensitive information. Experience of multi‑organisational partnership working. Understanding of cost‑effective service delivery. NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Service Skills or equivalent, with evidence of additional CPD/ training equivalent to NVQ Level 3. Desirable Experience in a hospital pharmacy or similar clinical/operational environment. Experience leading a team and responsibility for training, development and appraisal. Experience of service development, monitoring compliance and progress. Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject or willingness to undertake one. Knowledge of supply‑chain logistics and distribution practices.
