Basil’s Fine Foods is a premium food retailer located in Mindarie, offering a unique gourmet shopping experience to our customers. We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Bookkeeper to join our team to work alongside and assist our current Bookkeeper. This on‑site role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys working within a friendly, supportive team and is looking for 10‑15 hours per week. Flexible work hours are offered to support school or family commitments. About the Role In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up‑to‑date financial records and supporting the smooth operation of our accounting functions. Key duties include: Managing accounts payable and the general ledger Preparing and processing supplier invoices, generating weekly payments Daily reconciliation of bank statements and monthly credit card reconciliations Reconciliation of loan accounts and inter‑company loan accounts Maintaining and ensuring the integrity of the company’s bookkeeping systems Preparing monthly management reports, including P&L statements and balance sheets Assisting with annual financial statements and liaising with external accountants Completing end‑of‑year rollovers Provide support and end‑to‑end processing of payroll for approximately 80 people Operational tasks required for the daily management of office and business functions Offering assistance and cover to the wider team as required What We’re Looking For Minimum 2 years’ bookkeeping experience Proficiency in MYOB and Microsoft Office (essential) Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills Ability to work independently and also in a job share arrangement to meet deadlines Sound understanding of accounting principles and ATO processes (BAS, PAYG, Payroll Tax, etc.) Competence in stock, profit & loss, and balance sheet coding systems Relevant tertiary qualification in accounting or bookkeeping (preferred) More than any experience or skills, we are looking for the right candidate to fit the team’s culture and values.
