Software Engineer (Java) SYPAQ is seeking a Software Engineer (Java) to join our incumbent team for an opportunity within Defence. Commencing in this role can be based in either the ACT or QLD and the successful candidate must work from the client site. Working within Defence, you will assist in the transformation of their digital landscape including upgrading server software, moving to IIS as the gateway and uplifting server side and client-side codebases. Background The Defence Integrated Travel Management System, TRAX was implemented in 2015 and is comprised of (but not limited to) four key software components including Java, Tomcat, Spring, Log4j. TRAX is a web-based java application, used by Defence to administer over 70,000 travel requests and associated payment requests for eligible Defence personnel per year. Responsibilities Responsibilities will include the following key deliverables: Upgrade of Software Components – Manage the upgrade of software to current version and transition to IIS as a gateway to allow for SSO. Uplift TRAX code base including server side (Java / Spring) and client side ZK Framework, testing and deployment. About you Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Current Australian Defence Security Clearance NV1 Minimum. Strong communication skills. Ability to work to key deliverables and manage milestone dates.
