The Opportunity We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Centre Cook / Chef to join our wonderful team at our new Beresfield Centre. This role is ideal for someone who loves creating nutritious, delicious meals for young children and enjoys being part of a supportive, family-focused environment. As our Centre Cook, you will play a vital role in promoting healthy eating habits and supporting each child's wellbeing through balanced meals and positive mealtime experiences. What You'll Do Plan and prepare healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks for children aged 0-6 Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen aligned with food safety regulations Cater thoughtfully for allergies, dietary needs, and cultural food preferences Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, stock rotation, and food budgets Collaborate with educators to support centre-wide health, nutrition, and wellbeing practices Contribute to children's cooking experiences and promote healthy habits through fun, hands‑on learning What You'll Bring Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain) Experience as a cook or chef in childcare, school, aged care, or similar setting (preferred) Strong understanding of child nutrition and balanced menu planning Excellent time-management and organisational skills A warm, positive attitude and genuine passion for preparing wholesome meals for children Why Join Bright Steps Academy?
