Service Crew Member Department: Child Development: Overnight Camp Location: Sandy Island Overnight Camp Compensation: $215 - $275 / week Camp Vision – We will put people first, listen and serve to inspire hope for a better us. Service Crew members should be comfortable with physical tasks, working in various weather conditions, and contributing to a close‑knit camp environment. At Sandy Island, we put PEOPLE FIRST. We work together to INSPIRE HOPE and create a seamless, memorable camp experience. These positions are mission‑critical in keeping camp running smoothly and efficiently. Key Responsibilities Assisting campers with luggage transport on and off the island on Saturdays. Removing trash and maintaining cleanliness across campgrounds. Performing lawn care and general maintenance to keep the island in top condition. Delivering food and supplies via boat to the kitchen. Specific Responsibilities Organization – Support and understand relevant Action Plans and Procedures for the Shop; Knowledge and understanding about the layout and rules of the Shop. Culture – Put people first (New and Returning Community Care: Campers, Parents, Families, Alumni, Donors, Staff, Volunteers); Help provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well‑being among the camp community; Support our International staff & campers; Attention to detail in crafting an excellent experience in all we do. Safety – Support Incident Report management; Maintain and respect community boundaries for safety. Essential Functions Live onsite during camp season. Support approximately 180 campers and 60 staff 6 days per week for 10 weeks. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise Full‑time availability for the Campaign Season Beginning 2 Saturdays before July 4 and ending Labor Day. Must be at least 16 years of age. Desire and ability to work with in a camp setting. Strong attention to detail, cleanliness and follow through. Passion for people, a willingness to serve.
