Lithgow, New South Wales Full-time Description Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a Horticultural Technician to join their team in Lithgow, NSW. Reporting to the Head Gardener, you will be responsible for repair and maintenance of council parks and gardens including trees and recreational areas. Perform routine and corrective maintenance of council parks and gardens Carry out chemical application as required. Safely operate machinery such as ride‑on mowers, tractors, brush cutters, and chainsaws, ensuring all equipment is maintained in good working order Assist with garden bed establishment and complete garden construction following construction procedures Conduct tree lopping, pruning, and removal as required; treat injuries to bark and wood to promote tree health and safety in public areas For more detail about the specific duties and responsibilities of the position, please CLICK HERE for the complete Position Description. About You Class C Drivers Licence OH&S General Induction for Construction Certificate (White card) Experience in small plant operation including mowers Chainsaw Trim and Cross Cut Chainsaw Fell Trees Experience in establishment of garden beds Chemical Users Certificate Demonstrated commitment to the principles of integrity and honesty Demonstrated commitment to and understanding of Work Health and Safety In addition, an ideal candidate will have Certificate III in Horticulture Traffic Control Ticket (Stop/Slow) Traffic Control Ticket (Yellow) Sound knowledge of Council's Recreational areas Salary and Benefits Between $ and $ per week, commensurate with your skills, qualifications and experience. Additional remuneration may be available for an exceptional candidate.
