Chippy Crew / Experienced Carpenters Required GCMarine is an award-winning Marine Construction Company based at Arundel on the Gold Coast. Currently we are in the process of building a floating bar & restaurant in Townsville, QLD and are seeking to engage qualified and/or experienced Carpenters/Chippy's to join our team to complete this project. This is an employee and/or contract position. What you'll be doing: Working 6am to 4pm, Monday to Friday, with overtime rate of x1.5 paid after the first 38 hours (weather depending) Lead your own Chippy Team, lead a recently formed Chippy Team OR be a part of a Chippy Team to complete said work The job also entails other tasks such as standing and fixing aluminium structural frames and other labour-based responsibilities involved with building a floating bar & restaurant. Starting on site most days, you and your crew will need the ability to read and understand technical drawings/plans to ensure work is accurate Providing your own PPE gear as required Either providing your own tools or having tools provided to complete the said works Collaborating with the Project Manager, Operations Manager and wider construction team to deliver high-quality results Maintaining a safe and tidy work environment Completing all work to the highest standard Completing all work on time and on budget What we're looking for Minimum 2 years' experience as a qualified Carpenter, preferably in the construction industry Strong practical carpentry skills and the ability to read and interpret technical drawings Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship is a MUST Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Strong safety awareness and a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating risks Reliable, punctual and dedicated to delivering high-quality work Someone who has the ability to communicate and lead and/or be a part of a team Someone who has their own reliable transport and valid drivers license We're looking for a passionate, proactive, and hardworking, qualified Carpenter / Chippy who can lead or be part of a team. The position is available for an IMMEDIATE start. Remuneration will be dependent on what you bring to the table i.e. Skill Set, Tools etc...
