Lakeview Senior College Lakeview Senior College is located in the rapidly developing suburb of Caroline Springs, Victoria, approximately 20 kilometres west of Melbourne. It is a government secondary school educating students from Years 10 to 12 and serves a student population of around 955 in 2023. The college offers a broad selection of subjects and learning pathways tailored to individual needs, with a strong focus on academic excellence and high expectations. Role The classroom teacher works across two salary ranges. The primary focus is on planning, preparing, and teaching programs to achieve specific student outcomes. Teachers engage in critical reflection and inquiry to improve their practice and may undertake additional duties appropriate to their salary range and experience. Range 2 teachers assist in improving student performance, develop and implement school policies, and mentor other teachers. They will also use student data to inform instruction and supervise student teachers. Range 1 teachers focus on further developing classroom skills, operating under general direction, and may supervise student teachers. They participate in policy development, undertake induction programs, and manage classroom practice. Selection Criteria SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the curriculum with literacy and numeracy integration and experience responding to student learning needs. SC2: Experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies, guided by student learning and evaluating their impact. SC3: Experience monitoring and assessing student learning, using data to inform practice, and providing feedback to students and parents. SC4: Interpersonal and communication skills, establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the broader school community. SC5: Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, reflective practice, and engagement in professional learning. Responsibilities Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students. Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or program within the school. Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal. Participating in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions. Undertaking non‑teaching supervisory duties. Who May Apply Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach, and who have demonstrated experience in the specified curriculum area. If completion of an Australian postgraduate initial teaching program on or after 1 January 2024, demonstrate satisfactory completion of an accredited program as stipulated by the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership.
