The role As the Manager of Finance Partnering, you will play a pivotal role in leading a dynamic team responsible for delivering comprehensive, value-driven financial management services. These include financial analysis, reporting, budgeting within an agency and budgeting across government. In addition to overseeing these core functions, this role is integral to the strategic and operational governance of the Directorate, with you serving as a senior team member collaborating closely to achieve shared goals and objectives. Your success in this position will be reflective of your proven experience leading teams to deliver contemporary financial management, budgeting, and analytical services. You will also bring extensive expertise in fostering strong partnerships with key stakeholders and providing expert advice and guidance on financial and budget management matters. Exceptional conceptual and analytical skills will be essential, along with demonstrated experience in analysing and reporting on emerging issues, trends, and risk implications. A solid understanding of financial management frameworks—particularly the budget process, the Financial Management Act, the Treasurer's Instructions, and other relevant legislation and policies—will be crucial to your ability to navigate and excel in this role. While this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other similar vacancies (permanent, fixed-term, full-time or part-time) within the department for the next 12 months, from the date that the recruitment breach period has been finalized. Eligibility To be eligible for a permanent appointment, applicants must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia at the time of application.
