Overview The Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) is a leading paediatric hospital with over 6,000 staff and a budget of $850M. It offers a full range of paediatric and adolescent health services and provides tertiary care for critically ill patients across Victoria, Tasmania, Southern NSW and beyond. This part‑time, fixed‑term (0.4EFT) Speech Pathologist position (Grade 2, YB47‑YB50) will be based at the St Albans Community Mental Health Team, level 2, 147 Furlong Road, St Albans. The role runs until 17 June 2026 and prefers Thursdays and Fridays. Role and Responsibilities Provide high‑quality speech‑language pathology assessments, consultation, and intervention to infants and children aged 0‑11 years and their families within the RCH Mental Health services. Deliver specialist input into the multidisciplinary assessment and management of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Consult and collaborate with hospital teams, external organisations and service providers to promote capacity building. Requirements and Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology from an accredited university. Eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia and compliance with SPA professional self‑regulation and Code of Ethics. Clinical experience in child and adolescent speech‑language pathology, ideally within a mental‑health context. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Commitment to personal mastery, supervisions, and integrity. Ready to seek help when required and utilise supervisory mechanisms. Other Requirements Current National Criminal Record Check or willingness to obtain one. Valid Working with Children Check. Compliance with RCH staff immunisation procedures, including annual influenza vaccination where applicable. Salary and Classification Grade 2 Speech Pathologist (YB47‑YB50) with a pro‑rated annual salary of $88,030.80‑$101,197.20. Benefits Salary packaging. Employee Assistance Program.
