Head of History/ Secondary History Teacher $94,155 – $133,009 per year + Leadership allowance Wollemi College is an independent boys' school teaching the Catholic faith, situated on 10 hectares in Werrington, in Sydney's west. The College was founded in 1999 by the PARED Foundation on the principle that parents are the primary educators and that schools exist to offer parents every support. Learn more at Wollemi College is currently seeking a full time Secondary History Teacher to take on the leadership role of Head of History , commencing in Term 1, 2026. In addition to teaching responsibilities, you will be provided with a time allocation and leadership allowance to conduct your leadership duties. Leadership roles at Wollemi College are for an initial period of 12 months with a view to extend for an additional 2 years. The Head of History is a member of the Secondary School Heads of Department Team and contributes positively to educational discussions and keeps up to date with educational research and best practice. To be successful in this role, you will need to confidently demonstrate the following key skills and experience: Experience in leadership within a school environment, ideally Demonstrable experience in improving teaching, learning and classroom practices Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to establish a professional rapport with students, staff, and the school community at all levels Display the highest ethical and professional behaviour and standards when working with students, parents, and school staff members Ability to build a unified and effective team Support the values and ethos of the school Strong organisational and time management skills, with an ability meet deadlines In addition to demonstrating professional NESA accreditation, the successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a current NSW Working with Children Check.
