The WA College of Agriculture Morawa is a highly regarded college providing Agricultural Education and Training to students in Years 10, 11 and 12. Students are attracted from across Western Australia to study specialised agriculture through a combination of Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) subjects, and nationally accredited certificates, with a focus on agriculture and the supporting trades. The College is seeking an experienced Agricultural Education Teacher. As a school that develops and grows its own leaders, an experienced teacher is sought with the skills and ability to transition into a lead teacher role, including leading teaching and learning, explicit instruction, coaching and student services. The College is located next to the town of Morawa, which is 100 km from the coast and one and a half hours away from the services and amenities of the City of Geraldton. Small class sizes allow for program delivery, which offers the opportunity to work flexibly with the individual needs of each student in a case management approach. The successful applicant will be an active contributor to the Agriculture learning area and should be reflective in their practice to support professional growth and improve educational outcomes for students. You will ideally possess a sound understanding of the Agricultural curriculum and courses and knowledge and the ability to use high‑impact learning strategies to successfully engage students in Agriculture. The ability to differentiate curriculum and implement innovative approaches to improve outcomes for both high and low achieving students is a key element to this position. You will ideally build positive relationships with your students and be passionate about creating positive futures for students, and utilise evidence‑based decision‑making skills within your practice. Professional Benefits Attractive Country Teaching Program Allowance of $8 020 per year District allowance of $3 210 a year Temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $1 956 (see info below) 12 percent employer contributions to superannuation 12 weeks’ vacation leave (school holidays) More than 20 days of other leave, including sick leave and carers’ leave Subsidised accommodation where applicable Free relocation Air‑conditioning subsidy Teachers and school administrators employed at Western Australian College Of Agriculture – Morawa in 2026 are eligible to receive a temporary Attraction and Retention Incentive of $1 956 (pa, gross – to be adjusted pro‑rata for FTE and tenure). Eligible staff will receive a percentage of this payment on commencement at the school, with the remainder paid at the end of the school year. Staff must remain employed in the location until the end of the school year to be eligible to receive the second payment. The temporary ARI payment is in addition to other incentives that may apply in this school. Mobility appointments for permanent metropolitan and south west teachers Eligible permanent teachers who hold a substantive teaching position in a North or South Education Region school, or a South West Education Region school may elect to undertake this role as a 3‑year mobility appointment, with a right of return to their substantive position. At the cessation of the 3‑year mobility appointment, teachers can elect to return to their substantive role or transfer permanently into this school. Note that south west teachers are not eligible to move to another south west school under this trial. Want to know more?
