Software Engineer, iOS Core Product - Melbourne, Australia Speechify’s mission is to make sure that reading is never a barrier to learning. Over 50 million people use Speechify’s text‑to‑speech products to turn everything they read—PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, websites—into audio. Speechify’s products include an iOS app, Android app, Mac app, Chrome extension, and web app. In 2025 the company won Apple’s Design Award for inclusivity and the Chrome Extension of the Year. Today nearly 200 people around the globe work on Speechify in a 100% distributed setting. Overview With the growth of our iOS app, now the #18 productivity app in the App Store, we need a Senior iOS Engineer to support the new user base and build exciting new projects. The role is strategic, fast‑paced, and focused on building delightful user experiences. What You’ll Do Lead key engineering and product decisions. Actively ship production code for the Speechify iOS app. Work within a dedicated product team and participate in product discussions to shape the roadmap. Maintain and enhance the existing complex app architecture. An Ideal Candidate Should Have Experience building products that scale to a large user base. Track record of engineering end‑to‑end products from inception to traction. Customer obsession and focus on the best possible experience for users. Product thinking and collaboration with designers and internal teams. Speed—ability to ship quickly and decide what needs time. Focus—ability to work in a high‑growth remote environment. Technical skills in Swift and SwiftUI. Technical Requirements Swift programming language. SwiftUI experience. Multithreading programming. CI/CD infrastructure and Fastlane.
