Designer - Childrenswear Target Australia is looking for a Designer - Childrenswear to join their new Chadstone office in early 2026. The role focuses on delivering innovative, customer‑centric product ranges that align with Target's design aesthetic and quality strategy. Who are we? You'll work collaboratively with key stakeholders to create and deliver a cohesive childrenswear product range. Responsibilities include trend forecasting, product development, and print & pattern design, ensuring alignment with Target’s aesthetic and market strategy. Responsibilities Trend forecasting: identify, interpret and implement elevated trends using global research to add value through design and sales. Visually articulate and communicate the seasonal direction and present trend forecasts with supporting research. Maintain strong aesthetic taste with commercial focus, ensuring designs can be produced in volume. Product development: understand materials and construction, develop products offshore with TAS sourcing and design, work autonomously with merchandise and design stakeholders. Develop commercial products within cost structure, create visual presentations, technical specifications, and production art. Provide feedback to TAS design team to meet key metrics, adhere to IP requirements, and follow critical path and production processes. Print and pattern: identify and implement global trends, create commercial briefs and unique prints that reflect Target’s handwriting, produce accurate production art. What are we looking for? We seek an experienced, collaborative, and passionate designer with a strong background in childrenswear, womenswear, or intimate apparel, who can implement global trends and drive design and sales. All applications must include a portfolio of relevant design work.
