This position is not affiliated with a rotational scheme but you will be eligible to registrar with ANZCA as an independent trainee for 12 months. This position is not open to doctors that require supervision as part of the SIMG process and preference will be given to current ANZCA Basic or Advanced Trainees. Our services include a 24-hour Emergency Department Surgery Medical Services Womens and Childrens Services Rehabilitation and Palliative Care Mental Health Outpatients community-based health programs and services at Tatura Rushworth and Euroa. The Anaesthetic Department is accredited for 52 weeks of training by ANZCA across introductory basic and advanced. We are part of both the Eastern Victoria and Regional Victoria rotational training schemes. Our Critical Care Unit is a College of Intensive Care Medicine accredited G6 general training site. Shepparton is located in central Victoria and is just two hours drive north of Melbourne with proximity to alpine snowfields rivers and lakes wineries and the arts. What we can offer you Experience in the perioperative care of adult and paediatric patients for a wide variety of surgical specialties Opportunities to provide anaesthesia and analgesia services to patients in the birth suite operating theatres wards and the Emergency Department under the supervision of Consultant Anaesthetists An active role in Pre-Anaesthetic Assessment Clinics Opportunity to achieve ANZCA accredited training time in Intensive Care Medicine A well-established teaching programme that has produced 2 Renton prize-winners Support for your professional development Opportunities to be actively involved in audit service development and research activities Experience in supporting you as an independent ANZCA trainee What you need to be successful Enthusiasm for a role that provides significant experience in anaesthesia pain management and perioperative medicine Minimum of three years post graduate experience Drive to be actively involved in the clinical development and academic activities of the anaesthetic department and the health service as a wole A high standard of written and verbal communication skills The ability to work as part of a team collaboratively A commitment to Goulburn Valley Health values : compassion respect excellence accountability teamwork and ethical behaviour.
