Classroom Teacher – Secondary (Legal Studies Yr 11) Rockhampton Girls Grammar School, established in 1892, is one of Queensland’s original eight grammar schools. We are a learning community dedicated to ‘Learning for Life’ and to nurturing confident, empowered young women. Position We are seeking a part‑time Secondary Teacher, subject area: Legal Studies, year 11. The successful candidate will join our vibrant all‑girls learning community in 2026, with load to be confirmed. We welcome both experienced educators and beginning teachers who are eager to make a positive impact. Applicants must be registered to Teach in Queensland or have the ability to obtain registration. Responsibilities Punctually attend lessons, meetings and duties, including supervision of covers and out‑of‑class duties. Maintain accurate records of student attendance. Demonstrate a comprehensive knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA QCE. Plan and deliver lessons that align with the curriculum and the School’s programs, policies and procedures. Implement the Rockhampton Girls Grammar Pastoral Care program. Embed ICT in teaching and learning programs. Use data to monitor, track, evaluate, record and report student progress in a timely and accurate manner. Provide an inclusive environment, differentiating and offering adjustments for individual learners. Give regular, timely and effective feedback to facilitate individual student progress. Collaborate with colleagues, including the Director of Primary, Director of Secondary and the Executive, to enhance learning outcomes. Participate in House and Sporting events. Engage in Professional Learning to improve teaching effectiveness and student outcomes. Teach Secondary specialist subject areas where required. Attend Parent/Teacher interviews and presentation and awards events such as Speech Night and Investiture. Participate in weekly professional development sessions and other required professional development. Attend events that promote the interests of Rockhampton Girls Grammar School. Co‑coach sporting teams or other co‑curricular activities as required. Attend school camps and participate in the co‑curricular life of the School as required. Execute any other duties reasonably directed by the Deputy Principal – Studies. Essential Competencies ICT competency, including proficiency with Teams and OneNote. Excellent interpersonal and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. Willingness to engage in annual goal setting and professional reviews. Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and an understanding of the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers.
