Requisition ID: REQ About Tenterfield Community Hospital The hospital is an 18-bed acute medical facility including palliative care, with an Emergency Department handling around 300 patients monthly. It also features a busy Community Health Service, a community-based Mental Health team, medical imaging services (X-Ray and visiting ultrasound), and other visiting services. Role Responsibilities The successful candidate will provide contemporary, comprehensive, and professional specialist services that are safe, effective, evidence-based, and patient-centered. Responsibilities include: Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth, and on-call services as required by HNELHD. Attendance and availability during rostered hours and on-call periods, including clinical handover, supervision, teaching, and emergency and routine care. Mandatory Requirements A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of RACGP or ACRRM, or equivalent overseas-trained specialist pathways. Recent and comprehensive experience in general practice demonstrating medical expertise. Commitment to medical professional development and ability to assist in training and knowledge development of staff and trainees. Excellent oral and written communication skills with patients, colleagues, and the public. Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team and with stakeholders. Leadership and management skills, including experience in safety, quality improvement, and adapting to a changing health environment. Ongoing professional development and engagement in clinical governance activities. Contributions toward improving individual and societal health as an advocate.
