Lead Data Integration Engineer

Lead Data Integration Engineer Location: Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia Job Overview Designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs to enable secure, scalable data access. Integration with external APIs to ingest third‑party data into enterprise systems. Managing API gateways, authentication, and access controls for secure data exchange. Ensuring APIs follow best practices for scalability, security, and performance. Collaborating with software engineering teams to embed APIs into applications and workflows. Leading technical design discussions and proposing scalable architecture solutions. Establishing and enforcing best practices in data engineering, including coding standards, testing, and CI/CD for data pipelines. Partnering with product managers, architects, and stakeholders to align data engineering solutions with business goals. Job Requirement Hands‑on experience with big data frameworks (e.g., PySpark, Spark, Hadoop). Proven experience building and managing APIs (REST), including authentication (OAuth2, JWT) and API gateway management. Prior exposure to data security and compliance frameworks. Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing. Knowledge of DevOps practices for CI/CD in data pipelines. Familiarity with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
