About Us Legal Aid NSW delivers accessible legal services across criminal, family and civil law. We provide advice, court representation, and family dispute resolution through 28 offices and phone‑based support, helping people navigate the legal system with confidence and fairness. About The Role This role provides high‑quality advice, minor assistance, and casework service to disadvantaged communities. You conduct an effective legal practice, comply with the Legal Aid Commission Act, policies, and practice management standards, and undertake all related administrative and case‑management activities. About You You’re a passionate and driven legal professional with experience in family law and care and protection matters. You thrive working independently, manage your own case file load with precision and attention to detail, and ground your practice in a trauma‑informed approach. You bring empathy and understanding to working with clients affected by social and economic disadvantage and are keen to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families. Key Responsibilities Provide high‑quality family law advice and casework to clients with social and economic disadvantage. Conduct case management activities and comply with the Legal Aid Commission Act and related policies. Maintain accurate case files and manage your own workload with precision and attention to detail. Essential Requirements Be admitted or be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in NSW. Provide a current NSW Practising Certificate before you start work with us. Be willing to do a Criminal Record Check and Working with Children Check. Hold Australian or NZ citizenship, Australian Permanent Residency (for ongoing vacancies) or a valid visa to work in Australia (for temporary vacancies).
