As the District’s lead advisor and coordinator on disability and NDIS matters, the role supports the development and implementation of inclusive service models aligned with state and national disability policy frameworks. The position delivers expert clinical guidance, drives key initiatives, and supports staff across disciplines to effectively engage with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). It serves as the primary point of contact between MNCLHD and external stakeholders, including the NSW Ministry of Health, the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA), NDIS providers, and other government and non‑government organisations, ensuring effective communication, collaboration, and system alignment. The coordinator plays a central role in advocating for system‑level improvements, identifying service gaps, and leading change to promote access, inclusion, and equity for people with disability. The position is responsible for managing all disability and NDIS‑related escalations within the district from internal and external stakeholders, supporting timely resolution and ensuring a consistent and person‑centred approach. The role contributes to building workforce capability, supports clinical governance activities, and leads continuous improvement initiatives. It also provides supervision and mentoring to team members as required and contributes to the development of a responsive and sustainable disability health workforce. Through strategic collaboration, leadership, and advocacy, the position fosters a culture of inclusion, accountability, and clinical excellence across the district.
