This super‑base accommodates 3500 personnel from the Australian Army and RAAF, as well as being home to the RAAF Institute of Aviation Medicine. The health centre operates a 16-bed low dependency ward 24/7. It also provides primary medical, aviation medical, nursing, dental, physiotherapy, mental health, pharmaceutical and rehabilitation services. Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday (depending on role requirements and specific craft groups required for weekend and on‑call shifts). WHAT YOU’LL DO As a psychologist, you will Be a key member of a multidisciplinary team within a health centre, dedicated to addressing the complex and varied mental health needs of active ADF members. Be responsible for comprehensive intake and assessment, providing you with the flexibility to tailor interventions that effectively meet individual needs. Apply psychometric tools and customize treatments that align with your expertise, interests, and professional scope. Autonomously manage your caseload, including overseeing externally referred cases and delivering targeted treatment to Defence personnel. Receive support in handling crisis situations, conducting thorough risk assessments, and developing comprehensive risk management plans—all within a collaborative, multidisciplinary framework. WHAT YOU BRING A current, unconditional, and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA. Minimum of 2 years’ post‑graduate experience in mental health within the last 5 years, including comprehensive assessments and delivering evidence based “Focussed Psychological Strategies”. A current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate (HLTAID009). Familiarity with state/territory policies, national standards, and ADF Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy is advantageous. Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain/maintain a Baseline Defence security clearance.
