Senior Energy Lawyer – Permanent Role

A highly regarded firm has partnered with Elevate and is seeking a senior lawyer to shape the future of energy in Australia and contribute to its ambitious growth strategy. This is a rare opportunity to lead high‑value, strategic energy transition transactions and work closely with high‑profile clients and market‑leading practitioners. This is a full‑time, permanent placement offering a friendly and supportive team culture and hybrid working arrangements. Key Responsibilities Lead complex energy transactions from inception to completion, including renewable energy projects, power purchase agreements, and large‑scale infrastructure deals. Advise clients on regulatory frameworks, project financing, and risk allocation strategies. Draft, review, and negotiate legal documentation such as EPC contracts, JV agreements, and development agreements. Collaborate with the Energy Team to shape practice strategy and drive business development initiatives. Mentor and guide junior lawyers, ensuring quality and consistency in deliverables. Build and maintain trusted client relationships, acting as a strategic advisor on commercial and legal matters. About You 8+ years PQE with dominant experience in energy projects (renewables, power, or large‑scale infrastructure). Strong understanding of the compliance frameworks, risk management principles, and project structuring in the Australian legal context. Proven ability to lead complex transactions and manage multiple stakeholders. Strong drafting, negotiation, and client management skills. Exposure to capital structuring and project financing.
